Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the Become app for iPhone, and this website, do with your information. Become is made by J Roberto Goulart Filho Tecnologia Ltda ("JRG Tecnologia", "we"), CNPJ 62.592.453/0001-01, Av. Cristóvão Colombo, 2144, Sala 408, Porto Alegre, RS, 90560-001, Brazil. Questions: support@jrgtecnologia.com.
The short version
- There are no accounts. What you write in Become stays on your iPhone.
- If you choose a personalized plan, only what a week of lessons needs is sent to write it. We don't store it, sell it, or use it for ads.
- Analytics record which screens and steps you use, never what you write, under an anonymous ID.
- You can erase everything from the app at any time.
What stays on your iPhone
Your name, life area, goal, onboarding answers, affirmations, the signs and good things you note at night, your notes and photos, and your progress (lessons, Streak, XP) are stored only on your iPhone. They are included in your iCloud device backup if you have backups turned on, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy. We don't have a copy.
Reminders and the Home Screen widget are prepared on your iPhone. Photos you add are copied into the app on your iPhone and are never uploaded.
Your personalized plan
During setup, Become asks whether to personalize your lessons with AI. If you say yes, once a week the app sends what the next week of lessons needs to our lesson service, which passes it to Anthropic's Claude to write them: your first name, your life area, your goal, what you said gets in your way, and, after the first week, a summary of the last one (how many steps you did, the signs you noticed, how many days were rough, and how close you feel to your goal). Your notes are never sent word for word.
Our lesson service checks the reply and returns it to your iPhone, and keeps no copy of the request or the lessons. Anthropic processes them as our service provider.
This information is used only to write your lessons. We don't sell it or use it for advertising. You can turn off Personalize with AI at any time in the You tab, under Settings. From then on your lessons use texts we wrote, and nothing you write leaves your iPhone for this purpose.
Invite Codes
If you share your Invite Code, our lesson service stores the code with your first name and your anonymous ID, so a friend who redeems it sees who invited them. When a friend redeems your code, we store that redemption, so your app can add the streak freeze you earned. To allow one redemption per device, the app uses Apple's DeviceCheck, which marks a device without identifying you.
Usage analytics
To understand which parts of Become help and which don't, the app sends usage events (for example, which screens and steps you open, and when a lesson is finished) to PostHog under an anonymous ID. These events never include what you write. We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we don't use advertising identifiers.
Our lesson service also keeps daily counters per anonymous ID, such as how many plans were written, to prevent abuse.
Subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active, under the same anonymous ID. We never see your payment details.
This website
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising. Our hosting provider may keep standard request logs, such as IP addresses, for a short time to keep the site secure.
Who receives data
- Anthropic, to write your lessons, only if Personalize with AI is on.
- PostHog, for anonymous usage analytics.
- RevenueCat and Apple, for subscriptions and DeviceCheck.
- Cloudflare, which hosts our lesson service and this website.
These providers process data on our behalf and may do so outside your country, including in the United States. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising.
How long we keep it
What's on your iPhone stays until you erase it. Invite Code records stay while the Invite Code program runs, and usage counters are kept only as long as needed to prevent abuse. Analytics and subscription records are kept by PostHog and RevenueCat under their retention settings.
Erasing your data
Open the You tab and tap Erase all data to erase everything Become stored on your iPhone. Earlier iCloud backups keep their copy until they're replaced. Deleting the app also removes its data from your iPhone. To delete your Invite Code, or to ask about analytics or subscription records linked to your anonymous ID, email us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under Brazil's LGPD, the EU and UK GDPR and US state privacy laws, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, and to object to some processing. Because Become has no accounts, most of your data is only on your device and in your control. For any request, email support@jrgtecnologia.com and we'll answer.
Children
Become is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app when the change is significant.
